Aleathea Jackson Obituary

                Aleathea Ann Huntley Jackson, affectionately known as “Long Girl, Lisa, Momma, Nanny, and Nannan” was born to the late Jessie and Doris Huntley in Gadsden, Alabama, on October 9th, 1956. She was previously wed to Alexander Jackson Sr and to that union two beautiful children were born,

                “Lisa” {as everyone called her} accepted Christ as her personal Savior and Lord in her early childhood. She united with the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church of Gadsden, Alabama under the late Rev. Mallory. She remained faithful throughout her lifetime touching many hearts on her journey. She was admired, respected and loved by all whose lives she touched. She didn’t meet a stranger and she always had a smile on her face even when she didn’t feel good. She indeed, exemplified the love that had been planted in her heart from birth. She loved her large family and they loved her.

                She was blessed with 62 wonderful, loved and heartfelt years of life. Her 62 years brought her to the end of six decades and being blessed to have lived to see seven generation alive in her lifetime… She leaves a life time of cherished, loving memories to her children Soila Renee Jackson and Alexander Vann Jackson Jr. Gadsden, Alabama. Three beautiful grandchildren, Anjalonta (James) Parker, Janekia Staten, Gadsden, Alabama and Teaontari Staten (TJ), Huntsville, Alabama. Three wonder great-grandchildren that kept her going JaTari Parker (her husband), JaTariona Parker and Jacie Calloway. Three sisters, Belinda Huntley, Robbin (Tim) Kirby, Gadsden, Alabama and Regina Ball, Atlanta, Georgia. Six brothers Harry (Camellia) Jackson, Boris (Lucretia) Huntley, Staffon (Mary) Huntley, Antonio (Pam) Huntley, Gadsden, Alabama, Tarrance (Victoria) Huntley, Jacksonville, Alabama and Alexis (Valencia) Huntley, Buford, Georgia. Four sister in-laws Joyce Scott, Maria (Robert) Scott, Virginia Jackson, Gadsden, Alabama and Myrt Jackson, Marietta, Georgia. One brother In-law James Ike Jackson, Berwyn, Philadelphia. A very dear cousin Darnell Scott. Two wonderful neighbors that was like a brother and sister to her Johnny (Janet) Turner, four dear friends that she talked to daily, Joyce, Curry, Diane Harrell, Lisa Spencer and Covia Crocton. A second family that has been there for her and our family in the ways she was there for them and their family, The Watson’s. Thank you so much she loved you all like you all love us. A Host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear dear friends.

Death is not the end, but only the beginning and in death is where you truly begin to live, for you are safe in God’s arms.  Death is not sad…it is a time for elation, a joyous transition…
