Byron “Big Baby” Sanders was born on June 22, 1976 to James Fomby and Shelly Fomby. He passed peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 in his mother’s home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christie Sanders, sisters, Debra, Barbara, Lisa, and Krishonda Sanders.
Byron accepted Christ at an early age at Second Canaan in Detroit, MI and later moved his membership to Christ In Me in Pell City, AL where he later became a Deacon. He graduated from Pell City High School, class of 1996. Byron was employed at Phillips Tube Group for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, shopping, and worshipping the Lord.
He is survived by his loving son, Zyan Robinson; stepchildren, Jamyiah Thomas, Sharnea Thomas, Keara Kelley, Cadarius Orr, Cikerria Orr, and Shavaria Billingsley; a loving mother, Shelly Fomby; a loving father, James (Dorothy) Fomby; special mother-in-law, Virginia Weed-White; sister, Tiffany Sanders; brothers, James Sanders, Mario Sanders, and Kevin Sanders; brothers-in-law, Jonathan Orr, Jeremy Weed, and J'Quil Weed; sisters-in-law, Gabriel Grace, Meldrikka McKinney, Laquisha McKinney, and Patreese Williams; godchildren, Micah Sanders, Masyn Sanders, and Maddix Fomby; special friend, Kayla Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
