Mr. Charles E. Staples was born October 8, 1943, to the late James Alexander Staples and Mrs. Cora Bozeman Staples.
He graduated from Carver High School and furthered his education at Tuskegee Institute where he majored in Biology. He also attended Jacksonville State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Charles was employed as a Lab Assistant at Tuskegee Small Animal Hospital in 1961. He then began his career in the U.S. Air Force in 1963 in which he served as an Administration Specialist, operating a NCR31 posting machine for the E-52 bomb wing.
Upon returning to Gadsden in 1968, Charles was employed as a recreation leader for Gadsden City Recreational Dept. He later moved to Los Angeles, California and worked at the Los Angeles Times as a Communication Clerk. He was a member of Crenshaw Christian Center under the leadership of Frederick K.C. Price, Sr. After many years, Charles relocated to Fairburn, GA where he worked at Grady Hospital as a Medical Lab Technician and later retired and enjoyed life with his wife, watching sports, traveling, and shopping with her by his side.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, James Alexander Staples; mother, Cora Brunson Staples; sister, Ada Staples-Black; and brother, Raymond Staples.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jessica Maria Staples of Fayetteville, GA; daughter, Coretta Staples of Los Angeles, CA; brother, James Staples of Chicago, IL; sisters-in-law, Annette (Douglas) Stephens, Yolanda Jones, both of Gadsden, AL, and Marina Staples, of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, Jessie Jones, Jr. of Gadsden, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
