Closlen McGee

Closlen "Denson" McGee ,79, of Gadsden, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Grandview Medical Center while surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, August 31st, 2019 at 12:00 O’Clock noon at the United Christian New Beginning Ministry. Reverend Charles Kirkpatrick will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Garden of Valor in Rainbow City.

Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Closlen will be remembered as a very kind and loving person who was loved by all. He never met a stranger he didn’t like. He was a military veteran of the United States Army; a graduate of Norris High School, Attalla, Alabama, as well as graduate of Gadsden State Community College. Closlen retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Gadsden Alabama, with thirty-five years of service.

Closlen was preceded in death by parents Douglas & Bessie McGhee, Brothers: Winston McGhee & wife Lillie, Clemmie McGhee, & Douglas (DH) McGhee.

Closlen is survived by a loving and devoted wife of fifty-one years, Patricia Smith McGee; Daughter, Angelnetta Latricia McGee Ulmer (David), Chattanooga, Tennessee; Sons, US Air Force Veteran Rodney McGee (Jewel), Kissimmee, Florida, Patrick Denson McGee, Los Angeles, California; Brother, Joe McGhee (Mattie); Sisters-In-Law, Freda McGhee, Mequon, Wisconsin, Margaret McGhee, Birmingham, Alabama, Jacqueline Smith Manley, Bloomington, Illinois, Brenda Smith Fields (William), Linda Smith Thomas, Denton, Texas, Lela Smith Felix, Chicago, Illinois, Nancy Carlisle Smith, Detroit, Michigan; Brother-In-Law, John H. Smith Jr. (Gwen), Jackson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
