Mrs. Cora Anita Davis peacefully transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father the morning of March 22 with her son Ronald Davis by her side. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life.
Mrs. Cora Anita Davis was born January 27, 1938 in Dawson, Georgia to the late Mr. Lee Andrew Bell Jr. and May Bell Shaw and Mr. Clifford and Leila Moreland who raised her as their own.
She was employed by the Gadsden City School System and Gadsden State Technical College for over thirty years. She confessed faith in Christ at an early age and united with Shiloh Baptist Church in Georgia and later joined Sweet Home United Methodist Church in Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. George Washington Davis, her sons Derrick and Dexter Washington Davis, and a brother Roe Carter.
Those who cherish her memories are: Ronald Dewitt Davis, Gadsden, AL, one sister Alice Faye Peters, Dawson, GA, one brother Grady Wilson, Cary NC; five granddaughters, Coretta (William) Jones, Atlanta, GA, Candy Creekmore, Huntsville, AL, Rhonda Davis, Minneapolis MN, Latoria Davis, Gadsden, AL,and Chassidy Lindsey, Las Vegas, NV: two grandsons, Dejarick Macon, Tacoma Washington and Dexter (Cody) Washington Davis Jr. Gadsden, AL; twelve great -grandchildren, Jamillah Hickman, DestinyJones, Leighanna Fisher, Kameron Lowe, Kylee Lowe, Simone Trimble, Navi Riddle, Mikyah Davis, Jaden Davis, Aubrey Davis, Madelyn Davis, ParkerDavis and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friend, Mrs. Marynette Watson.
