Darrell Brunson

Darrell V. Brunson was born October 12, 1964 to the parentage of Freddie Brunson and Ruby L. Saffold. He joined and was a member of Union Baptist Church at an early age. 

Darrell was an avid athlete for Gadsden High School and the surrounding district. He loved Alabama “Roll Tide” football. He had a passion for cooking, music, and being the life of the party. He was the “King of the Grill”. He touched the lives of all that he encountered. Darrell began work at an early age and held leadership positions in every job and was well respected.
 

He departed this life on November 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bobby Penny, Kenneth Penny and Reginald Brunson. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Rhoda Brunson; three children, Sheraton Groce, Saqualis (Angel) Groce, and Camilyah Reynolds, all of Lincoln, AL; three grandchildren, Tre’Vaijja Howard, Kalani Groce, and Kyrie Groce; two god sons, Eric President and Speincer Johnson; two god daughters, Jamillah Amor and Meachelle Suttles; one brother, David Penny of Dover, DET; two sisters, Vera (Michael) Sturdidant of Danville, VA and Vickie Saffold of Dothan, AL; four sister in laws, Loretta Jamar, Lisa Rolley-Brunson, Ruby Penny, and Jackie Penny; one brother in law, Shawn (Alisa) Pearson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

**Viewing will be from 10-12 Saturday at the Church prior to time of service**
