David Lashore Obituary

David Lee LaShore was born August 17, 1961 in Oneonta, AL to the late Willie Lee LaShore and Essie Mae LaShore. He attended and graduated from Springville High School in 1981. He was a member of the marching band, FFA, “S” Club, ran track, played baseball, basketball, and football. He was also a part of Who’s Who. He went to Faulkner University after graduation. David entered into the work force at the age of sixteen. David served in the Army National Guard and retired as a Sergeant Class E5 in 1991, after his dedicated service during Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

He found Christ at an early age under now Apostle Charles E. Williams. He accepted God’s calling to preach and became Apostle Williams’s first son in ministry, where he served under him for many years in various positions. He was placed as pastor of the Abiding Bethel Church COOLJC by Apostle Williams. He served there faithfully for more than forty years. He served faithfully as sceretary of the Northern Alabama Diocese for many years. He also became very active in the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ by serving as the Chaplain of the Board of Presbyters under his dear friend and brother, Chairman District Elder Willie Shy for over sixteen years. He served as an alter worker during each convention, bringing souls to Christ. He did many street ministries and established churches in Centerpoint, Gate City, Selma, and Brent, Alabama. HE BROUGHT MANY SOULS TO CHRIST WHICH WAS HIS GOAL.

David was also a coach for the Little League Basketball for many years. He had a lot of children that came to him later in life and thanked him for teaching them the game.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Mae LaShore; father, Willie Lee LaShore; son, David Lee LaShore, Jr., sisters, Willie Beatrice McGill, Geraldine Collins; brother, John Estes, Sr.; sister-in-law, Vicki LaShore and the love of his life, Mother Annette W. LaShore.

Bishop David LaShore is survived by his daughter, Celeste LaShore; bonus daughter, Margrat (Edward) Wright; grandchildren, Celia Lewis, Travion LaShore-Jones; bonus grandchildren, Kennedy Wright, Kayla Wright; brothers, Jerry LaShore, Herbert (Kathleen) Toles, Tommy (Cynthia) Toles; sister, Inez (William) Smith; brother-in-law, Felix Collins; sister-in-law, Patsy Estes; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
