Mrs. Edna E. Littlefield Miller was born on September 30, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama to the union of the late David and Cora Littlefield. She was the youngest of six children. She was raised by her grandmother, who was lovingly known as Mama Ella Hayes in Gadsden, Alabama.
At an early age, Edna accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama under the leadership of Reverend W.S. Smith. She received her formal education in the Gadsden City School System.
Edna was united into the bond of holy matrimony to Earnest Miller, Jr. on July 25, 1953. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. To know her was to love her...and she always spoke her mind. She never met a stranger, and you were always welcome in her home...especially to join her on the front porch to sit, chat, wave at the more than occasional passerby, and to watch the birds.
Mrs. Miller peacefully closed her eyes to eternal rest on Thursday, October 28, 2021 while at home with her family, who loved her dearly...just the way she wanted it to be.
She was preceded in death by: her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Earnest Miller, Jr.; son, Raymond Edward Miller; sisters, Ora D. Houston and Cora Mae Williamson; and brothers, Oscar David, Louis, and Frank Littlefield.
Edna Littlefield Miller leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Angela Y. Miller, Helena, AL, Rachel L. Miller, Lithonia, GA, and Lisa Donya (Christopher) Croft, Gadsden, AL; two sons, Dale Lamont (Billie) Miller and Anthony Williams, Gadsden, AL; daughter-in-law, Dana Cleaver Miller, Batavia, OH; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances (Leon) Harvelle and Patricia Ann (Ernest) Williams, Gadsden, AL; brother-in-law, Fred Miller, Gadsden, AL; 15 grandchildren, Shemikia, Derrick, Meagan, Amber, Lenzi, Torrie, Nicholas, Hydeia, TJ, Malik, Crystal, Christopher Jr., Jeremiah, Jordan, and Jabria; and 21 great-grandchildren; she also leaves to cherish her memories: the only living Matriarch of the Littlefield family, cousin, Francine Littlefield, Conyers, GA, and the only living Matriarch of the Crosier family, cousin, Edna Crosier Branch, Dolton, IL; her dearest, faithful friends and front porch family, Doris Burdette, Miriam Ragland (like a daughter), Bernice McCrary, and cousin, Danny Wimbley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
