Mr. Frank (Big Don) McGowan, Sr. was born August 9, 1939 in Pell City, AL to the union of the late Mr. Jay McGowan and late Mrs. Lucille Strickland McGowan.
Frank attended St. Clair County Training School. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, raising hogs, and sitting in Glen City talking. He was a Father, son, grandfather, brother, cousin, and uncle.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Jay McGowan, mother, Lucille S. McGowan, sister, Annie Ragland, daugher, Christine S. McGowan, daughter, Mandy Sanders, son, Frank D. McGraw, son-in-law, Eddie J. Mitchell, two great grands, Amia F. George and Drayden McGowan, and a great nephew, Jackie Ragland.
He leaves to cherish his children, Delois Mitchell, Kim (Warren) Grimes, Frank D. (Valerie) McGowan, Jr., Tina Green, Jasmine McGowan, and Nicole McGowan; one brother, J.P. (Rosa) McGowan; a special niece, Staretta Jordan; and a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, great great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
