Because the Lord is Howard’s Shepherd, he had no want. Howard Ronald Lipscomb, affectionally known as “Punkin” (friends knew him as “Moochie”) was born to Mr. Harvey Haley, Sr. and Mrs. Artie Lipscomb Haley on February 9, 1950.
Howard grew up in Gadsden, Alabama and attended the schools of the Gadsden City School System. As a very young boy, he expressed his belief in our Blessed Lord and Savior and united with Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Later in his adult life, Howard was blessed to be a lovingly, faithful, and active member of St. John CME Church. Having served as Church Treasurer, President of the Trustee Board, and member of the Steward Board until he slept tenderly into his rest.
Howard, a self-proclaimed bachelor, met and married the love of his life, Paulette Parker Burrow on June 6, 1981. They were blessed with parenthood of three boys, Kenneth, Christopher and his “baby”, Anthony Ronald.
On October 5, 2019 he quietly slept into eternal rest at 2:33 p.m. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Artie Will Lipscomb Haley; his father, Harvey Haley, Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Paul Burrow; three siblings, Douglas, Bernard and Lavada.
Those left to hold him forever in their hearts are his adoring wife,Paulette, Gadsden, Alabama; sons, Kenneth (Tonya), Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher (Sherie), Dayton, Ohio, Anthony Ronald, San Francisco, California; grandchildren, Kennedy, Kendall and Kenneth, Jr., of Atlanta, GA., and Kanule of Dayton, OH; siblings, Harvey Haley, Jr., William, Bernice, Debbie and Eric all of Gadsden, Alabama, Darryl, Marana, Arizona, and Andrea “Brick” (Tina), Columbia, Maryland; his beloved aunt, Ruth Battles, Cleveland, Ohio; cherished friends, Mr. Jack Lowe, Mr. Horace Johnson, Mr. Herman Douthard; Mr. & Mrs. Charles Andrew's Jones, Elder Timothy N. and Lady Lawanda Yearwood, Mrs. Nadine Gray Dobbs, Ms. Jana Simone Brooks, Ms. Elaine Harris Spearman-Esq., Mr. Ernest McBride, Coach Graves & Dr. Sabrina Morgan-Graves'; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
