Ivan Bernard “Nard” Ruston Sr., age 56, of Dallas, Texas peacefully entered into rest Thursday, August 15, 2019. He was born on April 2, 1963 to Kemp Garrett and Adrian Ruston. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, grandparents, aunt, and six uncles.
As a young man, Ivan graduated from Litchfield High School and went on to Gadsden Technical School. He then traveled from his hometown in Alabama to Dallas, Texas where he also attended college and became a computer technician.
He attended First Baptist Church. He loved music but most importantly playing the drums. He had a passion for computers like no other. He even went on to owning his own company. He for sure was a jack of all trades.
Ivan was a man of joy and laughter but above all things he put God first. He was a great man and a great father! Ivan was and forever will be OUR father, our grandpa “PawPaw”, brother, cousin, uncle, spouse, and friend.
Those left to cherish his fond and loving memories are his children, Ivan B. Ruston Jr., Kierra J. Ruston, Dominique Smith, Darryon T Ruston, Braedyn E. Ruston; grandchildren, Brooklyn Adrian Nykole Perry and Ivan Bernard Ruston III; fiancé, Cassandra Critz all of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Stanley Ruston, Kenneth (Grietta) Garrett, LaShun (Jeria) Sharp, Roderick Orr; sisters, Jacquelyne “Jackie” McElderry & Nadia Sharp of Gadsden, Alabama; aunts, Patricia Orr & Brenda Sharp of Gadsden, Alabama; uncles, Damian Sharp & Terry Sharp of Gadsden, Alabama, Gerald (Ann) Sharp of Detroit, Michigan, Lenard Sharp of Huntsville, Alabama; mother of oldest children, Dominique Watkins; best friend, Gregory Mccants; friend, Marvin Marsh; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that were more like family.
"Sadly missed along life's way, quietly remembered every day....No longer in our life to share but in our hearts, you will always be there."
