James Sanders

James Lakevia Lamar Sanders was born March 28, 1971 to the union of James Fomby and Shelly Sanders. He is one of seven children born to this union. James attended school in the Detroit Public School System. He received Christ as his personal savior at an early age. James loved being with his family in Detroit and Alabama. He loved having a good time, sharing laughter, and sharing memories. James was known near and far, and he was known by Jamie, Buddy, Buddy Love, Jaymo and Dada. He was a what u see is what u get type of person.

On Monday, February 16, 2026 James was called home. He was proceeded in death by his siblings, Debra Sanders, Barbara Sanders, Toni Sanders, Krishonda Sanders, and Byron Sanders. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Shelly Fomby; father, James (Dorothy) Fomby; children, Jasmine Sanders, Chantil Bush, Jayme Sanders, James Sanders, Kayla Sanders, Jayla Sanders, Britney Ellis, Sema’j Sanders, Shyla Stevenson, and one more son; one sister, Tiffany Sanders; brother/nephew, Mario Sanders; nine grandkids; mother in love, Jerreldine “Kay Kay” Bates; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
