Mr. James Whitehead was born on May 24, 1957 to the union of Mattie Lou Whitehead and the late Charlie Whitehead Sr. in Etowah County at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Gadsden and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Jolly James Turner.
He was a 1977 graduate of Emma Sansom High School. Soon after, he followed his life long dream and became a long haul truck driver. He drove for over 20 years and retired from AAA of Attalla until his untimely death on May 31, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his father; Charlie Whitehead, Sr., brothers, Clearance and Robert; sisters, Lois, Mattie Mae, and Lula; and daughter, Jaquela Whitehead.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving

Anthony Whitehead, Gadsden, AL; grandchildren, Deterrious Barnum, Montavious Lucas, Julian Curry, Jr., and JaBraylen Smith, all of Gadsden, AL; special nieces, Arrica Bothwell, Gadsden, AL, Felisha Whitehead, Riverdale, GA, Amber Underwood, Huntsville, AL; nieces, Sada, Shay, Zanijah, and Arianna; nephews, Hikeem Sr., Terrell, Trey, Dominic, and Hikeem Jr.; mothers of his children, Shineta Backwell and Shirley Jenkins; and a host of neices, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
