Jerome McCants was born on October 20, 1950 in Gadsden, Alabama to the union of Mr. and Mrs. John and Lucille McCants.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Jerome graduated from Carver High School in 1969. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, watching boxing and Western movies and driving with the music blasting. He was very kind and loved helping those in need.
Jerome met the love of his life, Priscilla in 1977 and one child was born from this union, Latisha.
He moved to the city of Los Angeles in 1987 and found a career wih the Los Angeles Public Library, where he worked for 18 years until his passing.
The Lord called Jerome home on February 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Matilda (Wade) McCants; parents, John and Lucille; his sister, Barbara Jean; his brother, Johnny and sister-in-law, Gwendolyn.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Priscilla; two children, Keasha and Latisha; six grandchildren, Kameisha, Tanyesha, Melanie, Tre’sean, Antione and Dontay; two great grandchildren, Camille and Ezra; his siblings, Jo-Ann, Wilbur (Rosie), Walter, Linda (Charles), Kenneth (Mary), Greg (Patsy) and Karen; special sister-in-law Reta; aunts, Iola (Burnell) Wasp and Annie Laura McCants ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irma Jean, Regina, Evyonne (Keith), Teresa, Zallancia (Stokes), Alkeeda (Ulysses), Charlie, and Roosovelt (Dee Dee); special friends, John, Charles, Yvette, and Audie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Disposition will be that of Cremation.
