Joe Thomas Obituary

Mr. Joe Nathan Thomas was born on March 29, 1946 in St. Clair County to the proud parents, the late Abraham Thomas Sr. and the late Thelma Daniels Thomas. Joe departed this life on September 9, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Thomas, Bessie Robinson, Wilma McKelvia, Gertrude Byers, Francis Morton, Alice Thomas, and Ida Thomas; brothers, John Stripling, William Thomas, and Wallace Thomas; great-granddaughter, Aubrie Wilson, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

Joe joined Ebenezer Baptist Church of Ragland, AL at an early age, and remained a devoted member up until his illness. He loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith guided every step of his life, and he left a lasting example of kindness, strength, and devotion to those who knew him.

He faithfully served his country in the United States Army. After his service, he dedicated his life to providing for his family and instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and faith in God.

Joe was blessed with 56 wonderful years of marriage to his beloved wife. Together, they built a strong foundation of love and family, raising four children who were the pride and joy of his life.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Joe found joy and peace in the beauty of nature. Whether in the woods or by the water he felt closest to God's creation and often shared those passions with his children and great-grandchildren. He also had a lifelong love for sports & classic westerns. He never missed watching a game or episode from his favorite chair.
