Joseph Theodore Robinson, Jr., the oldest child of the late Joseph Theodore, Sr., and the late Nettie K. Lipscomb Robinson, was born September 20, 1957. He transitioned to eternal life on Friday, December 23, 2022. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and throughout his life remained a firm believer in Christ. Preceding him in death are his siblings, Clarice Childs and Henry Hardwick; his grandsons, Zeundre Cameron and Jeremiah Robinson.
Joseph, known to all as “Teddy”, graduated from Gadsden High School in 1975. During his middle and high school years, Teddy acquired and mastered the game of basketball obtaining the status as “one of the best point guards” that ever came through the city of Gadsden. After high school, he attended college but later began to use his skills and talents in the workforce. Teddy enjoyed life! He retired in September of 2021 from the Anniston Army Depot but continued with his second love of labor as a boat constructor where he and his business partner, Harold, restored and repaired recreational boats. Teddy also loved fishing, doing yard work, grilling, and studying God’s word.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 34 years, Gloria Jean Dupree Robinson, and his five children: Terrance Winborn, Gadsden, AL, Brandy Wilkerson, Madison, AL, Al Jeruah Robinson, Shequana Jenay Robinson, and Jessica Robinson, all of Gadsden, AL; two siblings, Lacy Robinson, Gadsden, AL, and Dr. JoNetta (Zeno) Terry, Birmingham, AL; brothers-in-law, Michael Dupree, Gadsden, AL, Randy (Valencia) Dupree, Temple, TX, Anthony Dupree, Gadsden, AL and Timothy (Donna) Dupree, Gadsden, AL; sisters-in-law, Donna (Walter) Scott, Gadsden, AL, Jackie Dupree, Centre, AL and Tammy (Drexell) Dawson, Stonecrest, GA; five granddaughters and four grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
