Kehinde Grace Obituary

On July 26, 1957, Kennedy (Kenny) Grace was born in Oak Hill, Alabama, to Nathaniel Grace Sr. and Mable Louise Grace. He was the sixth of nine children.

As an infant, Kenny’s family relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he attended Mona Park Elementary School and Ralph J. Bunch Middle School. Following his father’s retirement from the military, the family returned to Alabama, where Kenny completed his high school education at W.J. Jones High School, proudly graduating with the Class of 1975. With his sharp intellect and determination, he pursued higher learning at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama.

After returning to Los Angeles to begin building an impressive professional career, Kenny embraced his African heritage. He changed his given name, Kennedy, to Kehinde, a Yoruba name from Nigeria meaning “second-born of twins.” This decision reflected his deep appreciation for culture, identity, and legacy.

An entrepreneur with a natural gift for business, Kehinde worked in the investment banking field and later established his own firm, The Plethora Group. Known for his vision, intellect, and sophistication, he carried himself with distinction and earned the respect of colleagues and associates across the industry.

Though accomplished in his career, Kenny was equally known for his love of life and family, especially his boys, he talked about them everyday and he referred to them as "The Boys". He cherished time spent at family gatherings, where he was often seen capturing videos and photos on his phone, preserving memories that his loved ones will treasure for years to come.

Kenny also had a deep appreciation for leisure and the finer things in life. He was an avid reader and an enthusiastic golfer. He was a proud member of The Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. He found joy in swimming, soaking up sunrays while relaxing on beaches, roller-skating, biking, exercising, and connecting with nature. His love for the outdoors eventually led him back to his roots in Oak Hill, Alabama, where he spent his later years.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Lord called Kenny home to eternal rest. While his earthly journey has ended, the influence of his presence, his calm tone of voice, his infectious smile, and the love he shared will never fade.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Mable Louise Grace; his eldest brother, Nathaniel Grace Jr.; and his sisters, Della Mae Thompson and Joann Blackmon.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Harriet “Hunnee” Grace of Lexington, KY; two beloved sons, Keeinta Grace and Christian Grace; and one treasured grandson, Cameron Grace of Los Angeles, CA. Kenny is also remembered by his siblings: Dorothy (Roy) Jones of Los Angeles, CA; Folsom (Antrienette) Grace of Los Angeles, CA; Carl (Geraldine) Grace of Pine Apple, AL; Debra (Lester) Turk of Snow Hill, AL; Helen (Stephen) Watson of Gadsden, AL; and Liston Wayne Grace of Oak Hill, AL; two brothers-in-law, Stephen (Claudia) Broadus and Harry Broadus; sister-in-law, Frankie (Kevin) Bennett; devoted friends, Lynterias Owens and Diane Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, dear friends, and a special friend, the mother of his sons, LaTonya Lloyd who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Kenny will be remembered as a man of vision, ambition, excellence, wisdom, and a devoted family man, a lover of life, and a true example of strength and diligence.
