Shelly Sanders

Shelly "Memaw" Sanders was born December 27, 1978, to Barbara Sanders and Delbert Williams in Detroit, Michigan. Shelly moved from Michigan in her early teens and worked as a cook in different restaurants. She was always the life of the party, and loved to laugh.

Shelly was known for her love of capturing every memorable moment with pictures. She was united with Christ In Me Church of Pell City, Alabama.

On November 6, 2025, Shelly transitioned to be with the Lord. She was an amazing person, a loving daughter, mother, sister, and friend to all, and the world’s best Memaw to her grands.

Heaven gained a great angel. Shelly was preceded in death by her mom, Barbara Sanders; sons, Davionne and DeMario Sanders; grandparents, Scoochie McGraw and Barbara Williams; uncle, Byron Sanders; aunts, Lisa Sanders and Krishonda Sanders.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, a daughter, Octavia Sanders; son, Mekhi Sanders, both of Pell City; grandchildren, Davione Sanders, Zariya Oden, Makiyah Sanders, and Jacoby Lockhart II; parents, Delbert Williams of Detroit, Michigan, and Shelly Fomby of Pell City; brothers, Mario Sanders and Allen Sanders, of Pell City; sisters, Natisha Sanders, Britney Sanders, and Taissa Coleman of Detroit, Michigan; nieces, Malaya Sanders, Taniyah Sanders, and Laken Sanders; nephews, Kylan Sanders, Ma'Siah Sanders, and Masyn Sanders; and a host of other relatives and friends.
