Vivian Lindsay Thomas was born to the late Doris Looney and William (Bill) Turner on March 6, 1949 in Ragland, AL. Surrounded by family, she departed this life on Sunday, June 16, 2024 after a brief illness.
Vivian was a 1967 graduate of the St. Clair County Training School, Pell City, AL. She worked for The Gadsden Times for 20 years, where she retired from.
A bundle of joy entered her life on April 5, 1969 when she gave birth to her son, James Lavon Lindsay.
She confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age. When she returned to Ragland, she joined the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Wallace Pinson. She was an active and committed member of the choir. She later joined the Refuge Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Edward Turner. She was an active and devoted member until her health failed.
She found happiness in love on April 27, 2013 when she was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Thomas. They shared this life together for 11 years.
Vivian was blessed with a melodious voice that everyone enjoyed listening to.
